You are meant for more
In the spring of 2015 my husband left me for another woman. My son was “coming out.” Three, beloved siblings were sick with potentially terminal illnesses. My mother had suffered several strokes and was nearly blind, in a wheelchair, and quickly succumbing to dementia.
The fact that I had also just lost my job, needed a new one, and had to find somewhere to live while my kid finished high school … those things barely made the worry list.
Yet, 2015 ended up being the best damn year of my life. I needed to change, and God, the universe, name your higher power … decided 2015 was a good time to start.
That’s because if we aren’t doing the real work of life, then God, the universe, name your higher power … will come along and shake things up.
Mine is not a sad story. It is a story of TRIUMPH. I won’t tell you how it ends here, but there’s a podcast link below if you are curious.
Today’s message is this: you are meant for more. I am. You are. All of us are. And I don’t mean doing more, earning more, or achieving more.
You are here for a reason and until you can name it, visualize it, and begin to pursue it, you will continue to feel a lacking, a longing, an unscratchable itch to figure out what you were meant to learn or contribute in this lifetime.
You can’t eat it away, shop it away, drink it away, travel it away or busy it away. Botox and boob jobs won’t do the trick. And you certainly cannot quiet it away by giving absolutely everything you have in service to your children, your aging parents, your significant other, or your career.
If you are ready to direct some of that energy inward, if you are ready to cultivate new friendships with other women on a similar journey, if you are ready to invest in yourself to explore the promise of you, then I want you to contact me right now, before you let this second of awareness slip away.
I am forming small groups of women to work on life’s biggest stuff. We begin in September officially, but will host a few events this summer for those of you who are curious and want to try out a meeting before deciding to commit.
For all of us, the timing has to be right. But please don’t wait for your own 2015. Because God, the universe, pick your higher power … can also shake things up in a good way for all of you self starters.
Ask yourself — how good could it actually get?
Pretty damn, I’m telling ya.
Peace!
Lisa
