Dangerously Close to Drowning

Last night I had a dream that I was dangerously close to drowning.

In an indoor pool with people all around me, I had broken free from someone (something?) and was working hard to get away. Fully clothed and struggling to move, I knew that I had to reach the bottom of the pool first, so I could push off and get momentum. The only thing that mattered was breaking through the surface to breathe again.

Finally at the bottom, I shed some clothes. With all the force in me, I pushed off toward the top. Rippled, black outlines of people appeared just above the waterline. Oxygen was running low, and with each and every strenuous reach, water slipped through my outstretched fingers.

The pool deck was filled with people, but no one saw that I needed help. Now just inches from the surface, I could not break through the water. when a voice inside demanded “MAKE SOME NOISE!"

A muted, muffled scream bubbled out from me as I reached to meet another’s hand that was stretching toward the water.

And suddenly I was awake. Eyes wide open. Sitting up in bed. I had forced myself from sleep, afraid to see if I made it out alive.

I’ve been turning this dream over in my head all weekend.

Our fear feasts on authenticity.

Four months into my entrepreneurial journey, I am making steady progress. I know I am doing many right things, but growing a client base from scratch is hard. I see that I must ask for help, but admitting that is just so very difficult.

One thing I know for sure is that others feel just like I do. Entrepreneurs launching new ventures often keep a public, brave face that their great idea is developing well and in short order will be a thriving business.

Our fear feasts on authenticity.

For several years I have been building small groups for second stage businesses that have broken through that waterline and are moving on to achieve scale. Now in private practice, I am placing new focus on building small groups for startups, designed for entrepreneurs, just like me, who are afraid to release that last breath and ask for the help they need.

My mobile is 513-888-8489 if you want in.

And if you know me, and believe in what I’m doing, and if you are willing to help me make it all come true, please know that I do need you. Reach out a hand, and you will be teaching me a very important lesson …

I am not alone. People want me to win and are ready to help. I just have to MAKE SOME NOISE!

And so do you.

Peace, love, humility,

Lisa
